Through the silent ether echoes a scream
And so springs out of nothing one great dream
Inconspicuous thoughts become voices so loud
Which relentlessly besiege the mind, in a crowd.
They hammer without mercy on reason’s gates
And break in, reek havoc, they prey on dates
Future dates, future plans, dreams unfulfilled
Which fill their anxiety with hope, so unskilled!
And so love destroys, with continuous strife
The balance the soul builds throughout its life.
But the dreams are so beautiful! Rare sights
Baked in the sun of a hope climbing new heights!
A long wait, indeed, postpones all these dreams
Pain is here, a long battle awaits, or so it seems!
But it’s hard to bear the heavy sword of faith, or
The massive shield of patience, just once more!
Strife and happiness art together in this war called love,
For love brings a flaming sword of steel, not a dove!
And so, march onwards, through the fields of pain
With a smile, whilst stepping on spines! Isn’t it insane?
But I myself am insane, ‘cause I find myself wanting
More of those beautiful dreams, so, more of the suffering!
The dream brings fury, fear, hope, joy, sadness and disdain
Brought together in a horrid, beautiful, rhapsody of pain…
